what is raid? RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 10

Hello, guys welcome to my new post in this post we will talk about RAID, its types, and its uses. so let’s continue.

what is RAID?

Raid stands for redundant array of independent disks. It’s technique to secure your data from crashing and make your hard disk faster also.

suppose if you are using a single hard drive in your PC then your PC will work till your hard drive works if it stops working then your all data which is stored on your hard drive.

Now what you can do is you can simply use two hard drive to store your data so if one hard drive fails then you have another hard drive you can use that.

Types of Raid

There are five types of raids.

Raid 1

Suppose you have two hard two hard drive in those two hard drives you have stored half-half data in both of your drives. So this will do is they will increase read and write speed of your hard drive and id one drive fails you have secured your half data at least which better than loosing your whole data.

Raid 1

So as you seen the above image. what we are doing in raid 1 is we are making copies of our data.

Suppose you have two hard drives on your computer so we will make the copy of our data in another hard drive. So your whole data is secured but you don’t get good read write speeds

Raid 10

First, i would like to talk about raid 10. So raid 10 is the combination of raid 0 and raid 1

We take minimum four hard drives to perform raid 10, raid 10 is the mixture of raid 1 and raid 0 so we get the advantage of raid 1 and raid 0 where you get good read speed, as well as your whole data, will also get secured.

Thank you guys for reading this post, now may know about raids and its type i have not consider other types of raids because they are very complicated to understand and if i consider then you may get confused.
